Serve

Opportunities to glorify Him & serve others.
Serving is one of the most tangible ways we express love for God and others.

Here are some of the many ways to get involved at FBC Lavon:

Kids Ministry Team

Serve our youngest disciples on Sunday mornings (9 am or 11 am) or during Wednesday night programming in the fall and spring.

Why You Should Serve: Help shape the next generation to know and love Jesus. Your faithfulness plants seeds of the Gospel that last for eternity.

Student Ministry Team

Help disciple students in grades 6–12 during weekly gatherings on Wednesday nights.

Why You Should Serve: These years are pivotal. Your encouragement and example can help students grow in their faith and confidence in Christ.

Connection Team

Greet guests, open doors, and help newcomers feel at home.

Why You Should Serve: You are often the first face people see! Your warm welcome helps others experience the love of Christ from the moment they arrive.

Chair Team

Assist with setting up and taking down chairs each weekend to prepare our multi-purpose worship space.

Why You Should Serve: This behind-the-scenes role creates where we serve our community throughout the week, disciple the next generation, and worship with God’s people on Sundays.

Parking Team

Welcome members and guests as they arrive, helping create a warm first impression.

Why You Should Serve: Your smile and helpful attitude can turn a simple parking lot into the start of someone’s encounter with God.

Hospitality Team

Serve coffee, prepare the worship space area between services, and help create a welcoming environment for everyone.

Why You Should Serve: A cup of coffee and a kind word can open hearts to community and conversation—it’s ministry through genuine hospitality.

Worship and Tech Team

Use your musical or technical gifts to lead others in worship and help create an atmosphere where people can encounter God each week.

Why You Should Serve: Lead the church in glorifying God through music and technical skills. When you use your gifts for Him, you help others experience His presence and truth.

Creative Team

Support the church through photography, social media, and other creative projects that tell the story of what God is doing.

Why You Should Serve: Your creativity can inspire others and share God’s work beyond the walls of the church; help tell the story of His goodness and life transformation.

Midweek Meals Team

Help prepare and serve meals for families during our midweek gatherings.

Why You Should Serve: Food brings people together—your service helps create a place for families to connect, grow, and feel cared for.

Community ISD Team

Serve teachers and students in the local school district through acts of love and service.

Why You Should Serve: Your support shows our schools that the church cares deeply for them, reflecting Christ’s love in our community, and opening the door for gospel conversations.

Community Groups

Lead or participate in small, gospel-centered groups that meet regularly for discipleship, accountability, and prayer.

Why You Should Serve: Life change happens in community. By leading or joining a group, you help people grow closer to God and each other.
